Dharmendra and Bobby Deol play a father-son con-men duo in Varanasi. Sunny plays an upright man married to a Canadian living in Canada who gets to know after two decades that he has a father and brother in Varanasi.

Yamla Pagla Deewana employs formula but doesn’t get formulaic. It has action and comedy but doesn’t get slapstick. It brings together the Deols but not without a story. This one is an entertainer and not without a reason.

Review:
For starters, the first half is a real stretch and things pick up pace only following the intermission. Secondly, the script is weak and a little more effort in building a good story around the gags and humour would have worked. And lastly, it is difficult to understand why the youngest Deol has been given so much more screen space. Bobby, whose career is really going nowhere, again reminds you why he has been relegated to B’wood’s B-list.

Shot in Los Angeles, Las Vegas and Santa Fe, 'Kites' is an unconvincing love story about an Indian man's affair with a Latin woman and their predicament as they don't understand each other's language, 'Kites' is about their misadventure.
Kites is desi at heart, but also takes a few steps that might be considered risky by Bollywood standards. The leading lady speaks in Spanish and the makers have used sub-titles for people to comprehend. This, very frankly, might not go down too well with the traditional audiences.

Performance wise, Hrithik is just matchless. He has worked above the script which is commendable. Barbara Mori looks perfect for her part, but appears slightly mature at places. Kangana does not get much scope. Kabir Bedi has done a wonderful job. Nicholas Brown is top notch.

On the whole, Kites is stylish and slick, filmed like any international film. But the film also takes a few steps that might be considered risky by Bollywood standards. Kites does not justify the hype surrounding it but watch it for chemistry between Hrithik and Barbara Mori.

The Delhi High Court on Monday issued notices to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, director Anil Sharma and producer Vijay Kumar Galani of the recently released Hindi film ‘Veer’ on a suit by a Gurgaon-based author seeking a permanent injunction against screening of the movie and damages for allegedly using the concept of his book “Trilogy of Wisdom”.

The plaintiff has made Salman Khan a respondent in the suit. Besides acting in the film, Salman has also written the script.

Issuing the notices, Justice V. K. Shali asked the respondents to file replies to the suit by February 4.

The author, Pavan Chaudhary, accused the respondents of lifting the idea that “India should not be a ‘sone ki chidiya’ but a ‘baaz’ conceptualised in the book in violation his copyright over it.

The plaintiff further submitted that he is the author, first owner, true originator and lawful proprietor of the concept as mentioned in “Safalta ki Triveni: Chanakya Ka Rajnitik Gyan”, a Hindi translated version of the “Trilogy of Wisdom”.

The plaintiff had given wide publicity to the concept on television, radio and in newspapers, magazines and periodicals, the plaintiff submitted. The plaintiff being the first owner and author of the said copyright was entitled to all rights and privileges conferred upon him, the suit claimed.

Slumdog Millionaire was an entertaining movie. I was entertained by the story, the music and the performances. Not for a moment did I delve into deep analyses regarding the ‘dark underbelly’ of India, unrealistic showcasing of India and Indians by the West (What exactly is the true representation of India?) and how did various things happen the way they have happened in the movie.
The movie is very dynamic, funny at some places, keeps you on edge and in the end there is even more or less happy ending with some traditional/modern Indian dancing. Don’t take my word for it go and see this film – it’s in theatres now everywhere. All other traditional Hollywood movies that were nominated for Golden Globes awards including "Curious Case of Benjamin Button" are nothing in comparison to it!

After a long time Subhash Ghai is back with his latest work Yuvraaj. The film revolves around the story of three brothers and the evil mama and his family who have their eyes on the wealth. The film has a love story too. Yuvraaj may be said the combination of old superhits Ram Lakhan and Hero.

Yuvraaj is a love story between Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif. Deven Yuvvraaj (Salman Khan) is a chorus singer, in love with Anushka (Katrina Kaif) but her father Dr. Banton (Boman Irani) wants nothing to do with him. He is dead against this relationship. Things take a turn when Deven's father passes away and he returns to London not for affection and paying homage, he just gets back to his hometown seeking for shares in father's wealth. But there's a twist, there are also his brothers, Gyanesh Yuvvraaj (Anil Kapoor) and Danny Yuvraaj (Zayed Khan).

Gyanesh Yuvvraaj possessing autism from his childhood goes the apple-of-eye for everyone in the family, once attorney-close friend of his father (Mithun Chakraborthy) reveals that entire property is favored on him. Not only his relatives but Devn (Salman) and Danny (Zayed) also try to sway Gyanesh (Anil Kapoor) the wrong way. But somewhere along the way brotherly love surfaces.

On the whole, Yuvraaj comes under one of the finest works of Subahsh Ghai. The film has an interesting story with exceptional performance by all and it's a perfect family entertainer. At the Box-Office the film will do a good business.

This is also an animated movies based on a story of baby elephant named Jumbo. Percept's Jumbo may not be as entertaining as Hanuman - one film that opened the doors for animation films in India - but it is shades better than most amateur attempts that followed the success of Hanuman.

Jumbo, based on 'Chao Praya Prah Hongsawadee', a story by Ariya Jintapanichkarn, tells the adventures of Jaiveer aka Jumbo, a baby elephant. He dreams of following Yudhveer, his absent father, and becoming the royal elephant. Jumbo decides to go in search of his father.

A weakened Jumbo then comes upon a village where humans and elephants are working together. He is befriended by a beautiful young elephant cow, but is then chained up until he is tamed. Jumbo soon learns to value the humans who have captured him. Under the training of a wise, old mahout, he becomes bigger and stronger.

A local warlord comes around annually to collect tax from the village, and his taxes have become greedier each year. The village rebels and with the humans and elephants working together, the warlord and his beasts are defeated.

The call then goes out from the king for elephants for his army. Jumbo is taken to the palace. There, he is seen by his mother, who calls out to him. Jumbo goes wild in trying to break free from his chains to meet his mother. The King notices this, and remembers Jumbo from his childhood. Sanjay Sanghania (Aamir Khan) is a rich businessman, who 'accidentally' falls in love with Kalpana (Asin), a struggling model. During the course of their courtship, Aamir proposes to Asin and she agrees not knowing that he is who he is. In the meanwhile, Asin loves to help out the needy and one such exercise of her proves fatal.

On the whole, 'Ghajini' is so tremendous on all panoramas of narration and technical aspects. Screenplay is narrated on two separate chronicles; present life and flashback sequences of Sanjay (Aamir Khan). Really Ghajini ends this year with a great Dhamaka for all universal audiences.

The young director of the film, Mohit Suri, who made a name for himself with some good and successful films like ZEHER, KALYUG, WOH LAMHE and AWARAPAN, is very confident about his next venture.
While a few egoist directors have actually spoiled their relationship after not being offered the sequel to their previous hits (lets not get into the specifics here), there is nothing of that sort between Vikram and Mohit, who remain good friends. And in fact Mohit drops in often to meet Vikram as he finds his company refreshing.
